Move gives retailer 252 D-FW locations

7-Eleven Inc. is getting bigger in its hometown. The Dallas-based convenience store chain said Friday that it has acquired the leases of 27 Shell-branded gasoline stations in North Texas from Quik-Way Retail Associates II LLC.
It plans to convert them to the 7-Eleven brand, bringing its total locations here to 252 stores.
Terms weren’t disclosed.
Last year, 7-Eleven built five new stores in the area and said it’s looking for more sites. It’s also converting company-owned locations to franchise stores. Last year, it franchised 72 stores in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Dallas-based Quik-Way Retail Associates was formed by brothers Alan and Rick Golman and the Brubeck Co. to acquire 86 stores from Houston-based Motiva Enterprises LLC. That transaction was also completed Friday.
The Golman brothers own and operate Dallas-based Quik-Way Group Inc., which has 65 convenience stores and five Beverage City stores.
Motiva is a refining and marketing joint venture owned by affiliates of Shell and Saudi Aramco.
The stores that 7-Eleven acquired are in Dallas, Allen, Arlington, Denton, Farmers Branch, Fort Worth, Grapevine, North Richland Hills and Plano.
Initially, the stores will be company-operated and then franchised, said Allen Pack, a 7-Eleven division vice president.
The newly acquired stores “support our goals of growing our operation in key markets and increasing economies of scale to our infrastructure and advertising,” he said.
While most 7-Elevens with gasoline pumps sell the company’s own private-branded gasoline, these stores will continue to sell gas under the Shell brand, 7-Eleven said.

Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
