CHASED ME FOR NEIGHBOUR’S £4400

For 2 months Shell Energy sent me postal demands for nearly £4,400 for
a neighbour’s electricity supply based on the fact that I lived in the same postcode. I spent over 12 hours on the phone over 2 months explaining their error time and time and time again but not one call handler grasped the fact that Shell did not have a full supply address – they had sent letters to all householders living in the same postcode asking for payment. Appalling service, extremely rude staff, some of whom appeared not to have the foggiest idea what they were doing. Worst service I have received on my life! read more

Apsolute rubbish the worst internet provide ever, talk talk and now internet much better. Shell internet doesn’t work at all, they give you little to no internet, then charge you for months of internet you’ve not received rubbish company with rubbish customer service!!!!

Stay away from shell broadband

I am currently sitting on hold, it’s been 40 mins and this is my 3rd attempt to get through. First attempt Shell offered me a call back, I agreed to this. My phone rang twice as I went to answer it cut off. Second time I was on hold for 5 – 7 mins the phone began to ring and I was hung up on. This company clearly does not value its customers. Now for the reason I am trying to contact Shell. I signed up to their broadband with average advertised speed of 67mbps. I knew I would not get those speed where I live, but I knew I should be receiving 32mbps. My internet went live on the 12/06 And I have not received anything over 18mbps. Whilst writing this review I have finally managed to speak to a operator from Shell who is less than interested in helping me. I was told I’ve had looked at other speeds in your area and 16 – 24mbps is the going rate. How is it with my previous provider I could get speeds of 32mbps? The same lines are being used. I will be cancelling my contract with Shell and I will be going back to my previous provider. read more

Disgusting

Disgusting. Disorganised. Impersonal service. I was ‘allocated’ Shell after Green went bust. Never again. I’ve gone back to EDF energy who, in 2 emails, set up my account in the correct way. Never again will I use this company. And don’t bother with your insincere response. I’ve got loads of emails telling me you strive for excellent customer service. Shell energy has the worst technical service and customer service. I have exams and I am without internet for a week!!!

Shell broadband used to be decent. Now it is a pile of rubbish, not worth paying for. Junk.

Stressful shambles

Stressful shambles. I was transferred to Shell Energy broadband from Post Office Broadband and initially it seemed ok. When I had an issue with my connection it was obvious a cable outside needed replacing and an engineer agreed. I was told I wouldn’t be charged but it appeared on my bill. I couldn’t get through on the phone or web chat but emailed and after 3 attempts there was an apology and I was told not to pay. Then another payment demand. Then another apology. Now I’ve just been contacted by a debt collection company. Talk about stressful! read more

Absolutely appalling service. They took over my Post Office account, without my knowledge, and stopped taking any money – then they land me with a HUGE bill. Sorted that in November and I set up a Direct Debit with them expecting them to take monthly…NOPE I contacted them after 3 months to ask why they had not taken it to find they now expected me to pay another HUGE bill, in my reckoning it should have been less than £60, 3 months at £18.99 but they tell me I owed over £370!!! So I ask for an explanation…nope they took it out of my account the same day...I am still waiting for an explanation and will be looking for an alternative provider….steer clear read more

Shell have been reported to OFGEM and The Serious Fraud Office. The Maximum they can charge customers in my area for electric is 36p last october the put my bill upto in excess of 39p and in january to 41p + According to Citizens advice this is illegal. Check you bills and if they are overcharging you report to Citizens Advice and seriuous fraud office. The more who do the more chance there is of them bveing prosecuted and you getting compensation read more

Avoid Shell

Shell broadband is awful. Poor signal.
When you do get a signal it drops off.
No person to call for help and they send you email instructions – no good if you have no internet and have to use mobile data.
When you can read your emails they send you the same information over and over again

Complete and absolute nightmare

Complete and absolute nightmare. Where can I start been with them sine 2018 no problem smart meter reading always worked. Then in January 2023 smart meter failed to communicate so an estimate bill was generated wait for it £2500 for one month!!. I immediately phoned and complained they advised it would be corrected in February bill it wasn’t another bill for £1500 so phoned and asked to make a proper complaint I was transferred through to complaints department who said they would sort this out and contact me now at end of Feb and still waiting for them to contact me as they said they would. My bill is now showing i owe Shell £3800 for two months gas and this is not including electric. read more

A new level of awful

Phoned up to tell them a move date. It was like I’d ask them to solve the meaning of life. Got transferred 7 times and then ended up back at he original South African call centre. They do not have a clue what they’re doing. Completely and utterly hopeless.

My service with shell went live on the 1st Nov 22, a few drop outs of service occasionally, but nothing major, it did not affect streaming or kids gaming etc, so we can live with it. The 9th December was the last day of any broadband (I miss watching Netflix on a big screen) The router is just displaying the information light and nothing more, its not making any attempt to connect, so I make all the required checks, resets, switching it off etc to no avail. I get through to Shell quite easily and the tech guy seems genuinely helpful, line tests carried out etc and says open reach need to come out which will take 3 to 4 days, but nothing is confirmed until I hear from them. I explained that I felt the router was probably the issue and questioned if it would make more sense to have a new router sent out first rather than waste time and money on an engineer, he says its not possible. read more

Unbelievably bad. Have spoken to 7 different Shell, so called ‘customer advices, people. They have been polite but obviously make it up as they go along. They pretend they are referring to my notes but have no record of anything. Have waited ,in 2 whole days for engineers I was told would come, either AM or PM and would text me to confirm time. They didn’t come or text. I am being charged for a service I am not receiving. I have wasted hours phoning or waiting for Open Reach. I am under contract and want terminate but apparently can’t, or have to pay a severence fee. That is so wrong. Can Shell do this, arn’t they regulated. Do not use this company originally with the Post Office but went with Shell when they took over. Broadband speed was way to slow and unreliable. Customer service is a joke and finally moved supplier. Asked to return ancient router or would be charged £35. Returned Router with letter and proof of postage. 2 month later and various phone calls to tell them the router had been returned they still wanted the £35 paid . Terrible customer service, WiFi has been working intermittently, I have been ringing up asking for this to be fixed, which was finally done after Christmas. I was cut off twice on the phone.

I would give zero stars if I could. The customer service is crap. I’ve had no broadband for 6 days. Told internal fault by 3 people over more than 3 hrs I was on phone. They booked engineer who didn’t turn up. Phoned them and told external fault and would update me in 2 hrs..of course not heard from them then when asked was told they dont work weekends so God knows if they’ll ever fix it. Trying to cancel my order of broadband in my new place after months of having no Internet in my old place from them. I am calling in my cool off period and they hang up everytime I try to answer the phone or worse still after waiting on hold for 30+ minutes on hold after hearing I want to cancel my order. My broadband account with the P.O was changed over Shell energy, the contract expired end of July 2022. I could not understand their charges to renew my contract so switched to BT, maybe not the cheapest provider but great service.
I returned the router ( supplied f.o.c by the P.O. )and received confirmation that I had sent them proof of postage. over 3 months later I am still receiving threatening e-mails demanding £35.00 for the router. I have spent hours on the phone and sending e-mails to try and resolve this matter but I am not going to waste any more time trying to reason with this useless bunch of morons, and will try to resolve this matter through the ombudsman. read more

Don’t use their broadband service, drops out on a regular basis and the customer service is shocking. Often have to wait in excess of 50 minutes to speak to anyone!

BP and Shell are set to unveil bumper payouts for shareholders this week as the government threatens to levy a windfall tax if the oil giants do not reinvest profits into the North Sea and clean energy projects.

At BP’s first quarter results this Tuesday, analysts from RBC expect the £77 billion company to announce a $1.5 billion (£1.2 billion) share buyback off the back of first-quarter profits of $5.1 billion. RBC said political pressure meant BP would likely wait until later in the year to ramp up payouts, forecasting share buybacks of $4.75 billion over the following two quarters. read more
