A MAN HAS died in what gardaà believe was an industrial accident at the Corrib gas tunnel in Aughoose near Ballina in Co Mayo this morning.
An investigation is underway into what is being treated as an accident after the man sustained head injuries while operating a tunnel boring machine in the gas tunnel operated by Shell.
The incident happenend at around 9.45am this morning. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A garda spokesperson said officers at Belmullet Garda station are investigating the incident.
