THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

APRIL 12, 2009, 9:11 A.M. ET

Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA) on Sunday confirmed an incident at its trans-Niger pipeline, and said that all flow stations to the pipeline have been shut down as a result.

Shell had previously said that only flow stations to Nigeria’s Bomu manifold had been shut down.

A spokesman for the company said the cause of the incident was unknown, and firefighters were being sent to the scene in Nigeria’s Ogoni.

The pipeline transports 150,000 barrels a day at a minimum level.
