24 August 2017 12:21 Source:ICIS NewsLONDON (ICIS)–Two fires at Shell’s Rhineland refinery in Wesseling, Germany, in the early hours of Wednesday morning were quickly extinguished by the site’s fire brigade, according to a statement from Shell.
The first fire, which broke out at a crude oil distillation plant, according to local news reports, was caused by a scaffolding plane catching fire. Sections of the unit are currently undergoing planned inspections, according to Shell, and it was shut down as a precaution in the wake of the fire.
A second fire broke out on a pipe connection at a downstream plant, which was also brought under control quickly. Shell declined to comment on which product the plant produces when asked for a comment.
The company did confirm that no people were harmed in the incident.

Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
