Brunei Shell Petroleum chips in with $120,000

The 3rd International Halal Products Expo 2008 (IHPE) was seen up and running in full gear yesterday at the ICC, ready for today’s opening (Aug 14-17) ceremony by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
This year there will be 180 exhibiting companies with 260 booths taking part in the International Halal Products Expo of which 113 are locals and 13 foreign participants.
Forty-two companies from Malaysia, six from Indonesia, six from Australia, two from Singapore, two from Philippines, two from China and the rest from Algeria, Dubai, India, Syria, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam will all partake in the IHPE 2008 here in Brunei Darussalam at the International Convention Centre.
Meanwhile, as support for Brunei’s moves to diversify its economy away from over-dependence on oil and gas, Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd has contributed to the 3rd International Halal Products Expo 2008.
Dr Grahaeme Henderson, Managing Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum, remarked, “The Government of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has taken the initiative to progress various economic diversification programmes, and Brunei Shell Petroleum has been providing extensive support wherever possible.”
To which Brunei Shell Petroleum has contributed $120,000 to the IHPE, which was presented by Yang Mulia Awang Hj Kamaludin Hj Bungsu, West Asset Manager BSP on August 8.
In addition, BSP will showcase its corporate profile at the expo highlighting the hydrocarbon supply chain, technologies, environmental protection and social investment initiatives.
In 2007, 13 countries participated with a total 170 exhibiting companies. 49 local and 121 international with 158 booths, whereas, in 2006, 10 countries participated in the International Halal Products Expo with a total of 73 exhibiting companies of which 31 were local and 42 international with 95 booths.

Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
