TWO militants group, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger-Delta (MEND) and the Niger Delta Coastal Forces (NDCF) are now claiming responsibility for the recent bombing of the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SDPC) crude oil delivery pipeline to the Forcados Terminal in Delta state, raising doubts as to the intent of the groups. MEND was the first to claim responsibility in an online statement, signed by Jomo Gbomo while the NCDF came up with its own claim on Tuesday in a statement by its Commander Amawei Cubral, adding that the strike was a warning to the President Umar Yar’Adua that his ongoing military partnership with the United States to further destroy the Niger Delta people in the guise of fighting criminality would be resisted.
Asserting that only implementation of the agreement of the Federal Government with the Ijaw can bring peace, the NDCF warned militant groups against utterances that would jeopardize the struggle for justice in the creeks of the Niger Delta.
The group also frowned at the supposed re-organization plans of the SPDC, which it suspects to be a plot to scheme out Ijaws and Niger Deltans from the few sensitive positions they were occupying.
“We warn the Federated Niger Delta Ijaw Communities (FNDIC) and the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) not to be used by politicians to make silly utterances that will jeopardize the aims of the struggle. We advise FNDIC and MEND to respect other Ijaw sons and daughters in the struggle to achieve the overall purpose of the struggle”.

The spectacle (photographs below) included a funeral procession led by a horse drawn funeral hearse with senior Nazis officials and senior Royal Dutch Shell directors in attendance, Nazi salutes at the graveside, swastika banners on display and wreaths and personal tributes from Adolf Hitler and Reichsmarschall, Hermann Goring. Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
