DAILY EXPRESS NEWS (Malaysia): Shell a valued partner in development, says Musa (*Shell’s cosy relationship with Malaysian goverment)

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Musa Haji Aman described Shell Malaysia as a valued partner in the development and progress of Sabah, other than indulging in direct investment in the upper stream retail sectors.

He pointed out that Shell Malaysia had invested socially through their various sustainable development and community outreach projects throughout the State, thus reflecting the highest level of commitment social corporate responsibility..

Musa said this while launching the 3rd Golf With Friends tournament played over 8 holes, organised by Shell Malaysia, at the Sutera Harbour Golf and Country Club here, in an address delivered by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Nasrun Datu Mansur.

He said that the Government would continue working with the private sector towards achieving mutual benefits.

He also commended Shell Malaysia for having organised the friendly tournament between the Malaysian civil service and the private sector in Sabah.

Musa described the tournament as a successful annual social gathering, giving an opportunity for both sides to promote interaction, friendship and teamwork on an informal basis.

The Government team, comprising Head of State Tun Haji Ahmadshah Abdullah, State and Federal officers led by Musa, while Shell Malaysia was represented by its senior personnel and local media representatives, led by Exploration and Production head Wee Yiaw Hin.

The participants included State Secretary Datuk Sukarti Wakiman and Mayor Datuk Iliyas Ibrahim.

Also present was Sabah Shell Petroleum Managing Director George Ling who hosted the tournament.

The tournament, involving 60 golfers, was won by the Government team.
