We knew that Shell took seriously the leaks of information and Shell internal documents which have been supplied to us over several years by Shell employees. This was plain from Shell internal documents the company has been legally obliged to disclose to us.
We did not know just how seriously, until information reached us recently from a Shell Corporate Security source.

GARDAÍ IN north Mayo have initiated inquiries into alleged threats made to a contact supplying information on the Corrib gas project to a British whistleblowers website.
Supt Pat Diskin of Belmullet Garda station confirmed yesterday his office was carrying out initial inquiries regarding correspondence in relation to matters raised by a third party, but could not comment further.
John Donovan, who runs RoyalDutchShellplc.com with his father, Alfred, said he had written to the Garda Commissioner last October and was contacted by Supt Diskin just over a week ago.

By June 2006 Shell Malaysia legal boss, Thavakumar Kandiah Pillai (right), had got himself into a most dreadful mess.
Two years earlier he had advised EIGHT different companies, all within the Royal Dutch Shell Group, to bring a collective defamation action against a former Shell Malaysia Production Geologist, Dr John Huong. The action was in respect of information published on an earlier version of this website, which I jointly own and operate with my son, John Donovan.
It is clear from these cables that Royal Dutch Shell has the Dutch government in their hip pocket. No surprise there, the Queen must get her dividends. Royal Dutch Shell management apparently thinks it has so much influence it can dictate foreign policy matters to ALL of the G8 governments? Isn’t that a revelation. Maybe not after all we have learned about Shell’s not so secret ‘shadow government’ in Nigeria.
No matter what you or I may think about the Wiki-leaks gang, they do produce some important revelations that I am sure the US government, et al, and RD Shell would just as soon not disclose to the public.

Although their names have been redacted, it appears from this report that John Hofmeister and Malcolm Brinded were both directly involved in negotiations/discussions with Gale Norton?
If the issue of Shell corruption is raised, based on our knowledge, there is always a good chance that Mr Big Brain, No Scruples Brinded will be involved e.g. the “Touch F*** All” safety culture on North Sea Oil Rigs, his backing for a rigged Shell contract tender and now his interesting meeting in London with Gale Norton.

Within minutes of arriving, a Shell security guard tried to move us on. When we politely refused, explaining that we were on public property and had notified Mr Wiseman of our intention, the security guard said he had never heard of Richard Wiseman and that we were not allowed to remain outside the main staff entrance. When we again declined to leave, he reported to a colleague that three people were issuing leaflets. I advised him that only two of us were doing so, the third person was a journalist from a daily newspaper.
Mr Michiel Brandjes, the Company Secretary & General Counsel Corporate of Royal Dutch Shell Plc has had advance sight of this email and therefore the opportunity to correct any inaccuracy, or seek an injunction to prevent it being circulated. I am writing to draw your attention to alleged death threats made against Shell employees members of the CelticTigerFive who have leaked information to me concerning the controversial Corrib Gas Project.
With the exception of this paragraph, Royal Dutch Shell has had advance sight of this email and has therefore had the opportunity to deny the authenticity of the latest batch of Corrib project emails leaked to me and deny any knowledge of the associated death threats. The email was sent to Mr Richard Wiseman, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer of Royal Dutch Shell Plc and to the CEO of the company, Mr Peter Voser. No response has been received. This is apparently another taboo subject for Shell, like for example when I confronted the company with evidence of its key role in the Al-Yamamah oil for arms scandal.

Earlier today I sent an email to Richard Wiseman, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer of Royal Dutch Shell Plc advising him of alleged death threats made against Shell Corrib employees, who for some months have been leaking Shell internal emails to us, which we have published.
I supplied to Mr Wiseman the latest batch of leaked emails together with a draft email we intend to send to the Irish Police Commissioner reporting a Shell espionage operation against Shell Corrib employees and alleged related death threats.

As prominent Internet based critics of Shell senior management, we have received a large number of Shell internal emails over several years. Some have been leaked to us by our network of Shell insiders while countless others, spanning several years, have been obtained from Shell after we made applications to the company as provided under the UK Data Protection Act.
I would now reveal for the first time that our Shell insider sources of leaked internal emails have over the years received alleged threats, including alleged death threats. I have evidence from our sources confirming alleged threats. One such threat for example relates to the Sakhalin2 project. Evidence I provided to the Russian government supplied to me by an insider, cost Shell billions of dollars and also resulted in the resignation of a Shell Managing Director David Greer, who was Project Director of Sakhalin2 and Deputy Chairman of Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Limited. The last message received from the source informed me that they had received a credible serious threat. The source disappeared without trace.
Andy Coulson resigned as editor of the News of the World in January 2007 over a phone hacking scandal at the newspaper. He is now media adviser to UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
Journalists hacked into mobile-phones to hear voice mail messages left for UK royalty, government ministers and celebrities.
An investigation by Scotland Yard focused almost exclusively on the hacking targeting Prince William and Prince Harry. It resulted in the imprisonment of a News of the World reporter and a private investigator.
Below is another leaked email supplied to John Donovan by the *Celtic Tiger 5. It relates to the ill-fated Shell Corrib Gas Project in Ireland which, for over 5 years, has been beset by serious protests by the local population. Some protesters, including Maura Harrington (right), have been jailed for standing up to Shell and its hired security guards (thugs).The email was sent to Shell by the Hugh Epsom, the Sales Director of Twister BV, which offers advanced process solutions and associated services based around its supersonic gas processing technology for gas treatment to the Oil & Gas Industry worldwide.
Mr Epsom said that he was “extremely worried” about factually incorrect information (which may have found its way into a witness statement) that could have a negative impact of Shell’s reputation.
We are trying to obtain a date for the leaked email, the content of which is likely to be embarrassing and possibly incriminating for Shell.

I must say that I have been very surprised (and disturbed) to learn of the extent of Shell’s activities in the monitoring of their employees, their outside critics, etc. I find the creation of an internal ‘thought police’ organ very disturbing. Even more disturbing is the employment of former high level British and American governmental ‘spooks and cops’ to run these organizations. Shell’s relationship with the FBI is also very disturbing. Furthermore, Shell’s actions toward you and your blog have been almost ‘neo-facist’ in nature. (Henri Deterding would be proud of them, I am sure. Traditions die hard, I guess.)

CORRIB GAS project consultants have apologised for omitting material submitted to An Bord Pleanála as part of its new pipeline route application.
RPS Consultants have written to a number of appellants explaining that some data was omitted from the environmental impact statement.
An Bord Pleanála told The Irish Times yesterday that it was contacted by the consultants, and it believed at this stage it should not delay the resumed oral hearing, set for August 24th, into the last section of pipeline.

Due to the very short half-life of radon, it needs to be measured ideally within about 4 days of the sample being taken. The samples currently held by Core Lab will therefore be of no further use in determining radon levels.

Can you mark up the survey drawings and inform the relevant parties of the new obstacle on the seabed. The next time a suitable vessel is in the field we should try to move/recover the anchor as it will interfere with future anchor patterns for a rig returning to location.

As previously indicated, Shell will be concerned about the prospect of another active subversive employee group within the company following the leak to us in February of the Shell Global Address Book in what was described as the worlds biggest breach of employee details. The leak turned into a global PR black-eye for Shell.

Printed below is a leaked 2007 Shell internal email from the then CEO with a bike, Jeroen van der Veer. He sent it to all Shell employees in an attempt to burnish and promote Shell’s reputation just a few years after his involvement in the Shell securities fraud, which put more nails in Shell’s atrocious reputation. Must have been hoping Shell employees had a short memory about his own track record of covering up management misdeeds. No wonder one high level insider branded him “demented and delusional”.

The project has been dogged by controversy, including the jailing at Shell’s behest of the “Rossport Five” – members of the local population who have deep concern over safety and other issues.
Shell’s reputation was besmirched by the conduct of its New Zealand executives, whose court testimony Justice Wild rejected as unreliable.

OPINION: Shell’s standing as a good New Zealand corporate citizen is on the line.
It will be at least three weeks before Todd Energy’s fascinating $274 million lawsuit against oil multinational Shell finishes at the High Court in Wellington.
Justice Robert Dobson, assisted by economist lay member Professor Martin Richardson, is then likely to reserve his decision on the exemplary damages claim, relating to efforts by Shell and Austrian partner OMV to limit production at the Pohokura gasfield.

I am still studying the Shell internal documents and communications the company was recently obliged to supply to me in accordance with an application under the Data Protection Act.
It is interesting to note the way events in our unusual relationship with Shell have been spun by Shell lawyers, depending on who is being given the information.
Richard Wiseman (right) is now the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer of Royal Dutch Shell Plc. We crossed swords with him many times during the seven separate court actions we brought against the oil giant, which settled ALL of these claims, involving breach of confidence, breach of contract and libel.

A lengthy document sent by allegedly disillusioned Shell employees to leading environmental and human rights activists sought to launch a corporate revolution at the oil giant.
The document, which was given to IT PRO, was attached to a leaked database containing contact details of nearly every Shell employee. It was sent by 116 disillusioned full-time employees in the US, the UK and the Netherlands to Greenpeace and other campaign groups active in Nigeria.
The document contained information on how the contact database could be used change the way Shell operates, by influencing employees, the public, top institutional investors and non-governmental organisations.

Shell media spin machine went into overdrive last week trying to downplay the worlds biggest ever leak of employee details, including personal information, which Shell Ethics boss Richard Wiseman, has twice admitted puts the safety of some employees at risk.
A copy of a related email from Mr Wendel Broere, Group spokesman, Global media relations, Shell International B.V, desperately engaged on a damage limitation exercise with the news media, was leaked to me on the day it was sent. My role is discussed in the email, no doubt because I am the person who broke the story which turned into a global PR disaster for Shell, with all kinds of unwelcome repercussions, including an investigation by the Information Commissioners Office and the prospect of a fine for being reckless with confidential employee data.

Shell has been hit by a massive data breach – the contact database for 176,000 staff and contractors at the firm has been copied and forwarded to lobbyists and activists opposed to the company.
John Donovan, an activist who received the database, said he had voluntarily destroyed the files. But he warned that other copies were available online.
The email supposedly comes from 176 “concerned staff” to highlight Shell’s activities in Nigeria. The database is about six months old and could have been released by a recently-laid off staff member, or there could really be a rogue campaign group within Shell.Richard Wiseman, chief ethics and compliance officer at Royal Dutch Shell, wrote to staff last week after the breach emerged.

ADVICE: Shell employees at Tullos have been told not to be alarmed
A DATA leak has put Shell oil workers in danger from cyber-criminals and environmental activists, it was claimed today.
A Shell database containing details of 102,000 employees and contractor information was accessed and sent out from the firm, which has a major base in Aberdeen.
The information includes private addresses and mobile phone numbers.
Among those to be sent the details were British blogger John Donovan who said the personal details could be used to dupe staff and put workers in dangerous situation.

Royal Dutch Shell may have been infiltrated by activists, according to one of the people who received an e-mail containing Shell’s staff contact details and a 177-page infiltration guide.
John Donovan, a corporate activist who runs a “name and shame” website about Shell, received the original message. The message, which contained the names and contact details of more than 170,000 Shell staff and contractors, was signed by 116 people who claimed to be Shell employees.

A full-scale investigation was under way last night into a security breach at Royal Dutch Shell as the oil company faced explaining to staff how the personal details of 170,000 employees and contractors had made their way on to the internet.
The Times has learnt that seven non-governmental organisations (NGOs) who were e-mailed a database of all Shell staff this month have been dragged into the row.

Big companies, particularly those dredging the heavily geopolitical waters of oil, inevitably come under attack. When you produce something that generates big money, often in countries where poverty is rife and human rights abuses abound, there is plenty of scope for criticism. There is also plenty of scope for confusion as to what an oil giant can and cannot do: insisting that a government’s oil revenues are funnelled into hospitals and schools is laudable, but presidents of countries are free to think otherwise.

Royal Dutch Shell has suffered a serious breach of security after contact details for more than 170,000 employees and contractors were e-mailed to environmental and human rights campaign groups.
The database, from Shells internal directory, gives names and telephone numbers for all the companys workforce worldwide, including some home numbers used for business. The e-mail was ostensibly sent by disaffected staff calling for a peaceful corporate revolution at the company.

The details of up to 170,000 workers and contractors linked to the company, including some workers addresses, were contained in a database of Shells global workforce.

The Police have advised me that the database is not of any interest since they are not currently investigating any criminal offenses.
In the light of this information, we have notified Richard Wiseman Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer that we are willing to delete/destroy the copy of the Shell Global Address Book sent to us.
It is not a leaked email or document, but a huge proprietary database storing commercial and personal information. And it belongs to Shell.
It is being destroyed/deleted on a voluntary basis.
Published below is more email correspondence with Richard Wiseman, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer of Royal Dutch Shell Plc. It concerns the Shell Global Address Book containing company and personal contact information for over 100,000 employees. I will leave to readers to decide whether Mr Wiseman is fit for purpose in his current role.

LONDON (Dow Jones)–A database containing contact details of tens of thousands of employees of Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSB) was passed to non-governmental organizations critical of the company and environmental groups that have targeted it in past protests, people familiar with the matter said Tuesday.
The database contains contact details, including mobile phone numbers and home postcodes, for every Shell employee, workers at the company’s joint ventures and some contractors. It isn’t clear if the groups will take any action with the data they received, the people told Dow Jones Newswires.

Another major humiliation and security breach for Shell. First we beat Shell to the top level domain name for Royal Dutch Shell Plc. As a result, with Shell’s written approval, we process job applications and business proposals meant for Shell, dealing with them as we deem appropriate.
We also regularly publish leaked Shell information, including for example breaking the news last May about Voser’s Transition 2009 plans for Shell.
Now a further huge embarrassment. We have in our possession a leaked database directory with contact information for every Shell employee on the planet – over 100,000 people. This is despite a global spying operation by Shell against its own employees designed to prevent insider information from reaching us. Shell Corporate Affairs Security is no doubt redoubling its efforts to plug the leaks, but the damage continues.

LONDON (Dow Jones)–Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSB.LN) data containing the contact details of tens of thousands of employees, which the company said could compromise their personal safety, has been leaked to a blogger critical of the company, according to emails seen by Dow Jones Newswires.
The data, which includes mobile numbers and home postcodes of workers in dangerous locations like Port Harcourt, Nigeria, was leaked by a number of Shell staff to John Donovan, a blogger who is critical of the company and is a frequent recipient of leaks from within Shell.

For several years, Shell Oil Products, a division of Royal Dutch Shell Plc, was complicit in a sleazy fraud perpetrated on customers at an oil lube chain in Illinois.

As a result of Shell being legally compelled to supply me with Shell internal communications, we now know about the frantic activity that was going on inside Shell at the time in relation to my article about the scam. I note from the Shell internal documents supplied to my son that Shell has engaged in some wishful thinking regarding my age (I am now almost 93). Unfortunately for Shell, I am still very much alive and kicking.
Documents released by Royal Dutch Shell Plc under the Data Protection Act to John Donovan, a prominent critic of the world’s largest oil company, show that Shell does not deny that his intervention in the Sakhalin2 project in Russia cost Shell billions – according to the Sunday Times – $22 billion.
Shell internal correspondence from December 2006 to March 2007 reveal that Shell was concerned that:
“…the Sunday Times has picked up the Sakhalin/drilling leaked e-mail story from Donovan’s website, They are responding with agree Os and As that have been used previously with the Guardian, but are first trying to kill the story by pointing out that is old news – slim chance that this will work.”

Royal Dutch Shell conspired directly with Hitler, financed the Nazi Party, was anti-Semitic and sold out its own Dutch Jewish employees to the Nazis.
