
Forbes.com: BP America spent $2.6 million lobbying in 1Q

WASHINGTON – America spent $2.6 million to lobby on oil and gas production and exploration, as well as foreign trade agreements and other issues in the first quarter of the year.
The U.S. subsidiary of BP (nyse: BP –news – people ) PLC also lobbied on legislation dealing with climate change, commodities regulation and price manipulation, tax issues and more, according to the form posted online April 21 by the House clerk’s office.
The company spent more than $4.6 million to lobby the federal government in 2007.
Besides Congress, BP America lobbied the White House, Environmental Protection Agency, and the departments of State, Energy and Interior.
Rachel Miller, a former legislative assistant for Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., was among those lobbying on BP America’s behalf in the first three months of the year.

The spectacle (photographs below) included a funeral procession led by a horse drawn funeral hearse with senior Nazis officials and senior Royal Dutch Shell directors in attendance, Nazi salutes at the graveside, swastika banners on display and wreaths and personal tributes from Adolf Hitler and Reichsmarschall, Hermann Goring. Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
