Erris Shell To Sea has this week sought high-level meetings with several new Government ministers and high-ranking Gardaí in an effort to break the current deadlock on the Corrib gas project.
“It is time to face up to the realities and end the conflict,” said spokesman, John Monaghan in a written statement.
Among those approached for face-to-face talks are recently-appointed Justice Minister Brian Lenihan and the two Green Party cabinet members John Gormley and Eamon Ryan, both of whom have direct responsibility for key aspects of the Shell-led scheme.
“Recent events have caused great concern for the safety of those who are opposed to the current plans for development, and whose efforts to exercise their rights to non-violent protest have been met with unlawful brute force by the Gardaí and Shell,” the statement continued.

The spectacle (photographs below) included a funeral procession led by a horse drawn funeral hearse with senior Nazis officials and senior Royal Dutch Shell directors in attendance, Nazi salutes at the graveside, swastika banners on display and wreaths and personal tributes from Adolf Hitler and Reichsmarschall, Hermann Goring. Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
