Mr. John,
I guess you are having good fun in your ivory tower getting all kind of e-mails from disappointed people and dropping it on the web to see what impact this has on SEIC and Shell.
While probably every company in the world has its issues, only one disappointed ex-staff (wasn’t it John?) took the bad decision to spit his venom on the web.
You have become the voice of people who’s ideas were not listened to, were overruled, neglected (often for good reasons) and instead of taking the sack they blow whistles.
As a Shell-SEIC employee for already 5.5 years I am especially pissed off with your actions, as well as with these so-called whistle blowers (who should be fired on the spot and named and marked for the whole industry), since I know in what a difficult working environment Shell is working here and what it has achieved. It probably did not pass your attention that RF and local authorities did progress some delaying tactics, while fisherman, environmental persons scrambled delaying tactics to squeeze more money out of the system. And yes, work was also underestimated, as was the Sakh1 project from Exxon which budget increase from 10 to 17 Billion was silently approved. Despite all that, the project is coming on stream, in a reasonable HS manner and a world class E manner.
Have you considered mister John, that you whistle blower might be a Gazprom person who intends to make current management look stupid in order to take even more advantage???
Having said that, your publishing of David Greer’s e-mail probably will give him a couple of god job offers, since this guy makes thing happen. Maybe he has all those things that you did not have in your career??
You really would do your esteem a bit of a favor if you would stop being the voice tube for the frustrated, losers, opportunists etc. in the Shell world.

Royal Dutch Shell conspired directly with Hitler, financed the Nazi Party, was anti-Semitic and sold out its own Dutch Jewish employees to the Nazis. Shell had a close relationship with the Nazis during and after the reign of Sir Henri Deterding, an ardent Nazi, and the founder and decades long leader of the Royal Dutch Shell Group. His burial ceremony, which had all the trappings of a state funeral, was held at his private estate in Mecklenburg, Germany. The spectacle (photographs below) included a funeral procession led by a horse drawn funeral hearse with senior Nazis officials and senior Royal Dutch Shell directors in attendance, Nazi salutes at the graveside, swastika banners on display and wreaths and personal tributes from Adolf Hitler and Reichsmarschall, Hermann Goring. Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
