AFX Europe (Focus): Shell Malaysia, Petronas JV delivers gas from offshore Sarawak – report: Tuesday January 03, 2006
KUALA LUMPUR (AFX) – Shell Malaysia and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd have begun deliveries of natural gas from their jointly-operated new Shallow Clastics satellite field off the coast of Sarawak, the New Straits Times reported.
The newspaper quoted Shell Malaysia chairman Jon Chadwick as saying the the E11 Hub project is on schedule, and is one of the company's largest ongoing gas projects in the Asia-Pacific region.
“This milestone is an important contribution to delivering Shell Malaysia's objective of more integrated gas,” he said.
So far, five Shallow Clastics wells have come onstream from the existing E11 platform and a new satellite platform installed this year. Two further phases of Shallow Clastics field development are being planned.
The other E11 satellite gas field developments, E8, F13 West and F13 East, are expected to come onstream in the next three years.
Once completed, the 5.3 bln rgt E11 Hub Integrated Gas project will bring gas production from the fields through one integrated hub before channelling the processed gas to the Petronas Liquefied Natural Gas complex in Bintulu.
Both companies have a 50 pct interest each in the integrated gas project with Shell Malaysia as the operator. The two partners have so far invested one bln rgt each in the project.
