VIENNA (Dow Jones)-A multibillion dollar deal between Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA) and the Iraqi government to jointly develop domestic gas infrastructure in Iraq's south could be delayed until after the country's elections in January, a senior Iraqi oil official said Tuesday.

Royal Dutch Shell managers are beginning the grim task of telling staff where job cuts will fall as new chief executive Peter Voser wields the axe.
A report on company protest site royaldutchshellplc.com said about 15% of jobs in the exploration and production unit will be lost and employees will be told early this week.
However, there is doubt over that figure as reductions have not been finalised yet. Shell declined to comment.
Voser has said thousands of positions will go as he slims down the oil leviathan in a plan called Transition 2009.

Royal Dutch Shell Plcs Nigerian unit said protesters besieged its Olomoro pumping station in the southern Niger River delta to press demands for a greater share in the regions oil wealth for local communities. Demonstrations that started last week continued yesterday, said Tony Okonedo, a company spokesman. The protests concern issues that are already receiving attention from Shell, he said, adding that were in dialogue with the community. The action hasnt disrupted oil production because the Olomoro station has been shut since June due to the general security situation in the region, Okonedo said.

Sept. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K., a Japanese refiner and solar-equipment maker, plans to build a 100 billion- yen ($1.1 billion) photovoltaic-panel factory to expand solar capacity about 10-fold and offset waning demand for oil products.

Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
