Jim Farrell, a director of IRMS security, said he could not believe claims made by both Willie Corduff, one of the Rossport Five, and Pat ODonnell, a Shell to Sea campaigner.
Corduff alleges that masked men beat him on the morning of April 23 after he lay under a truck near Glengad. He has refused to make a statement to gardai.
Farrell said gardai decided to leave Corduff under the truck after an attempt to forcibly remove him failed. At about 11.15pm on the same night, masked protesters gained access to the Shell site and used a digger to cause damage.
At 4am Farrell said he approached the truck to remove Corduff. We got there and he was standing up, Farrell said. He claims Corduff was taken away by ambulance complaining of chest pains. It was a trouble-free exercise.
The IRMS boss said Corduffs story was similar to ODonnells account last month of masked men sinking his boat. ODonnell denies sinking it himself.
Farrell distanced his firm from the controversy around former employees who became involved with an alleged plot to assassinate Evo Morales, the Bolivian president. Michael Dwyer from Tipperary was shot dead by Bolivian police earlier this year.
Ciaran Ó Murchú , a spokesman for anti-pipeline group Pobal Le Chéile, said gardai have shown they are not independent enough to investigate either Corduffs or ODonnells complaints.

Royal Dutch Shell conspired directly with Hitler, financed the Nazi Party, was anti-Semitic and sold out its own Dutch Jewish employees to the Nazis. Shell had a close relationship with the Nazis during and after the reign of Sir Henri Deterding, an ardent Nazi, and the founder and decades long leader of the Royal Dutch Shell Group. His burial ceremony, which had all the trappings of a state funeral, was held at his private estate in Mecklenburg, Germany. The spectacle (photographs below) included a funeral procession led by a horse drawn funeral hearse with senior Nazis officials and senior Royal Dutch Shell directors in attendance, Nazi salutes at the graveside, swastika banners on display and wreaths and personal tributes from Adolf Hitler and Reichsmarschall, Hermann Goring. Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
