GREENWASH CHAMPIONS
HOUSTON, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ — Shell Oil Company proudly announced today that it has earned the top rating of 100 percent in the 2009 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Shell joins the ranks of 259 other major U.S. businesses that get top marks for their treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees and consumers.

As part of its commitment to diversity and inclusion, Shell has established a formal framework of principles and expectations for every Shell-controlled company. Specifically, Shell companies are encouraged and required to value the broad range of cultural and personal differences that exists in each Shell company, respect each employee’s need to balance work and personal demands, provide equal opportunity for every staff member to compete and promote a culture in which all our people are committed to diversity and inclusion. Additionally, Shell-controlled companies must actively support the attraction, development, retention and promotion of diverse talent, and promote a workplace free from harassment and discrimination.
The CEI rated 583 businesses in total, evaluating LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination policies, transgender health benefits and domestic partner benefits. Shell’s efforts in ensuring LGBT equality in each of the survey’s main criterion earned it the prestigious 100 percent ranking.

Royal Dutch Shell conspired directly with Hitler, financed the Nazi Party, was anti-Semitic and sold out its own Dutch Jewish employees to the Nazis. Shell had a close relationship with the Nazis during and after the reign of Sir Henri Deterding, an ardent Nazi, and the founder and decades long leader of the Royal Dutch Shell Group. His burial ceremony, which had all the trappings of a state funeral, was held at his private estate in Mecklenburg, Germany. The spectacle (photographs below) included a funeral procession led by a horse drawn funeral hearse with senior Nazis officials and senior Royal Dutch Shell directors in attendance, Nazi salutes at the graveside, swastika banners on display and wreaths and personal tributes from Adolf Hitler and Reichsmarschall, Hermann Goring. Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
