Feds: Interior had ‘inappropriate relationships’ with oil execs

DENVER Federal investigators are preparing to release a report detailing improper relationships between oil executives and Interior Department officials who oversee offshore drilling. Criminal charges will be pursued against at least one staffer, according to sources familiar with the inquiry.
Up to 10 employees from Interiors Denver-based Minerals Management Service ran afoul of federal ethics rules. Their interaction with representatives for three major oil companies, including Royal Dutch Shell, are at issue.
“Inappropriate relationships have been part of the culture,” one source said.
The soon-to-be-released findings by Interiors Office of the Inspector General are expected to help explain breakdowns in accountability in government energy deals and other questionable activities discovered by the offices investigators and whistle-blowers in recent years. Presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain have renewed the debate over an expansion of offshore oil drilling.

The spectacle (photographs below) included a funeral procession led by a horse drawn funeral hearse with senior Nazis officials and senior Royal Dutch Shell directors in attendance, Nazi salutes at the graveside, swastika banners on display and wreaths and personal tributes from Adolf Hitler and Reichsmarschall, Hermann Goring. Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
