Fri Jul 18, 2008 6:17pm EDT

NEW YORK, July 18 (Reuters) – Shell Oil Co. said on Friday it was boosting rates at its 67,000 barrel per day fluid catalytic cracking unit at the Deer Park refinery in Texas after an electrical problem Thursday night cut rates to the unit.

A spokesman for the company said the unit would likely reach full production capacity on Saturday.

The Deer park refinery, with a total capacity of 332,000 barrels per day, is jointly owned by Shell and Mexico’s state oil company PEMEX. (Reporting by Richard Valdmanis)
