Shell lifts force majeure on key Nigeria oil field: spokesman
LAGOS (AFP) Anglo-Dutch oil giant Shell will resume meeting its contract obligations from its offshore Bonga oilfield in Nigeria, shut down last month because of a militant attack, a spokesman said Thursday.
“The force majeure on Bonga was lifted on Wednesday, July 9. We have resumed production at the facility,” Precious Okolobo told AFP.
Shell declared a force majeure — a legal clause allowing producers to miss contracted deliveries because of circumstances beyond their control — on the oilfield on June 20 after an attack by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND).

Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
