Frank Glaviano Sr., Shell’s vice president of exploration and production, has been selected as the new Chairman of the Louisiana Mid Continent Oil and Gas Association, the group announced this morning.

Frank Glaviano Sr.

Glaviano joined Shell in 1976 following graduation from Tulane University and has held a number of positions with the company over the years. In his current role with Shell, Glaviano is responsible for assets in the United States, Venezuela, Brazil and Argentina.

“We are extremely pleased to have a person of Mr. Glaviano’s caliber to lead the association.” said Chris John, president of the association. “With his wealth of industry experience and his strong Louisiana connections, Mr. Glaviano will be an able leader for the Association as the industry faces the many challenges that lay ahead.”

Glaviano replaces Gary Fuller, formerly with Placid Refining, who moved to Texas to accept a new position and had to resign as the Mid-Continent Chairman.

The Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association is a non-profit trade association that represents all aspects of the oil and gas industry in Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico. The association’s office is located in Baton Rouge.
