LONDON, March 3 (Reuters) – Gas started flowing into the British gas network through the Royal Dutch Shell-operated import terminal at Bacton just before 1700 GMT on Monday after being shut out following a fire on Feb. 28, data from National Grid showed.
Flow data on the network operator’s website showed that gas was coming into the country at a rate of over 8 million cubic metres per day by 1746 GMT.
Shell spokespeople were not available for immediate comment early on Monday evening but a spokesman for the company had said in the mid-afternoon that investigations into the extent of the damage caused by the fire were ongoing.
The pipeline feeding gas from North Sea fields through the terminal on the east coast of England and then into the national network was meeting just under 10 percent of current demand for the fuel before the fire broke out in a waste treatment unit.
Although flows through the terminal jumped late Monday afternoon, at around 9 million cubic metres a day by 1800 GMT, they remained at less than a third the flow rate seen before the fire. (Reporting by Daniel Fineren, editing by Anthony Barker)

The spectacle (photographs below) included a funeral procession led by a horse drawn funeral hearse with senior Nazis officials and senior Royal Dutch Shell directors in attendance, Nazi salutes at the graveside, swastika banners on display and wreaths and personal tributes from Adolf Hitler and Reichsmarschall, Hermann Goring. Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
