Aberdeen Press & Journal: SUBSEA SOLUTIONS UNDER SPOTLIGHT

08:50 – 29 October 2007

The benefits of sharing subsea solutions will come under the spotlight this week when international subsea engineering and software company MCS brings its annual technical conference to Aberdeen for the first time.

Delegates from each of MCS’s six bases around the world are to attend the two-day event at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre with guest speakers joining more than 20 internal presenters drawn from both the engineering and software development sides of the business.

Keynote speakers on Wednesday and Thursday include Jennifer Craw, senior director of operations at Scottish Enterprise Grampian; Ian Stevenson, senior vice-president for global subsea business development at Technip; and Fergus McGhie, Shell UK’s head of subsea and pipeline projects.

The inaugural conference took place in Ireland last year following rapid growth which has seen the number of MCS employees rise to almost 200 globally.

The firm is committed to recruiting a further 100 staff in the next two years.
