Borneo Bulletin: Shell Deepwater Borneo Raises Funds For Hospital

Bandar Seri Begawan – For every bag of rubbish collected along Panaga beach in Seria and its surrounding areas. $10 was paid by Shell Deepwater Borneo in an effort to raise tunas for the Sun Seri Begawan Hospital.

The environmental and charity event it: conjunction with World Earth Day took place yesterday from 7am onwards. The event was launched by Shell Deepwater Borneo Managing Director Mr Kenneth Robertson.

The event included a beach cleaning campaign and a mass planting of ‘Penaga Laut’ trees at the Panaga School club and golf course area.

Funds raised from the hundreds of garbage bags collected yesterday will be donated to the Suri Seri Begawan hospital in Kuala Belait in order to help support the hospital it improving patient care.

The three-hour event involved more than 300 people comprising Panaga School students, aged between eight and 12-years-old, teachers and parents of students as well as BSP and Shell Development Borneo staff and family members.
