Royal Dutch Shell and Gazprom have yet to close a $7.5 billion (£3.8 billion) deal that will give the Russian gas giant a majority stake in the $20 billion Sakhalin-2 project, the Russian daily the Moscow Times reported.
The paper quoted a source close to Gazprom as saying that a deal was in its “final stages” but the timing remains uncertain. Gazprom wants to isolate itself from the fallout from alleged environmental damage caused by the project, according to the article. (Thomson Financial)
