EXTRACT: Shell Executive Director Rob Routs is a named defendant in a number of class action lawsuits relating to the Shell reserves fraud. Shell has already agreed to settle some of the lawsuits, including one brought by its USA employees. Royal Dutch Shell plc has appointed Monwabisi Fandeso (47) to head its various businesses in South Africa. In his new role, Fandeso will be the Country Chairman for Shell South Africa and the Vice President of Sales and Operations for the South region of Shell Oil Products Africa. He will be based at Shell’s newly built head offices in Bryanston.
Identified by recruitment specialists last year as one of South Africa’s top future business leaders, Fandeso is currently the Operations Director of SABMiller’s Africa and Asia business. He takes up his new role at Shell on the 16th of October
“We are delighted that Monwabisi Fandeso has agreed to join Shell,” says Rob Routs, Executive Director in charge of Shell’s global downstream business. “He brings with him a wealth of experience and skills in operations management and people management.”
Fandeso, who holds a B Sc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wales, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, has an impressive track record as a product manager, operations director and general manager. In 2001, he accepted a secondment to the Land Bank, where he worked as Managing Director before returning to the SABMiller Group in 2004.
Paddy Milner, acting Country Chairman of Shell SA, and Vice President of Manufacturing, Supply & Distribution for Shell Oil Products Africa, is confident that Fandeso will be very happy at Shell. “Not only will he be supported by a highly capable management team, but we are also going through one of the most exciting and challenging times in the history of Shell South Africa.”

Royal Dutch Shell conspired directly with Hitler, financed the Nazi Party, was anti-Semitic and sold out its own Dutch Jewish employees to the Nazis. Shell had a close relationship with the Nazis during and after the reign of Sir Henri Deterding, an ardent Nazi, and the founder and decades long leader of the Royal Dutch Shell Group. His burial ceremony, which had all the trappings of a state funeral, was held at his private estate in Mecklenburg, Germany. The spectacle (photographs below) included a funeral procession led by a horse drawn funeral hearse with senior Nazis officials and senior Royal Dutch Shell directors in attendance, Nazi salutes at the graveside, swastika banners on display and wreaths and personal tributes from Adolf Hitler and Reichsmarschall, Hermann Goring. Deterding was an honored associate and supporter of Hitler and a personal friend of Goring.
Deterding was the guest of Hitler during a four day summit meeting at Berchtesgaden. Sir Henri and Hitler both had ambitions on Russian oil fields. Only an honored personal guest would be rewarded with a private four day meeting at Hitler’s mountain top retreat.
