Shell Presents Plan for Iran’s Kish Gas Field

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

Royal Dutch Shell on Tuesday presented its development proposal to Iran’s Petroleum Engineering and Development Company for Kish Gas Field in the Persian Gulf.

Hans Nijkamp, vice president of Shell, elaborated on development plans in a meeting with Noureddine Shahnazi-Zadeh, chief executive of PEDEC, and Gholamreza Manouchehri, the deputy for development and engineering at the National Iranian Oil Company, Shana reported.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between NIOC and Shell in December to conduct technical studies on the field.

Based on the agreement, the Anglo-Dutch company was required to complete surveys and come up with a development proposal for the field in six months.

Shell submitted a proposal for developing Azadegan and Yadavaran oilfields south of Iran last month. Azadegan, a giant oil reservoir at the Iran-Iraq border, has been singled out as the first oilfield to be tendered within the framework of Iran Petroleum Contract, the country’s new, more attractive contractual model for implementing upstream petroleum projects.
