Stay tuned folks: more dynamite revelations about unscrupulous Shell executive directors are in the pipeline

By John Donovan

We will shortly reveal the sneaky machinations going on behind the scenes to keep important information from reaching the public i.e. potential and current Shell shareholders. Hundreds of millions of dollars are involved, as is Jeroen van der Veer personally. This has nothing to do with Sakhalin. It relates to deception and fraud by Shell executive directors.

As you will see from irrefutable evidence (I won’t even bother to write to Michiel Brandjes on this one) the interests of executive directors are being put before the best interests of shareholders. I am sure many Shell stakeholders will be disgusted and outraged by how deliberate steps are being taken to hide this important information. read more

The sale of licences to drill for oil and gas rights in Alaska will threaten the future of the region’s polar bears, conservationists warned today.

The oil and gas rights to drill in 29.4m acres in the Chukchi sea, which were made available by the US government’s Minerals Management Service (MMS) yesterday, have attracted record bids of $2.66bn from the likes of Shell and ConocoPhillips. read more

SAKHALIN ENERGY NIGHTMARE CONTINUES: LEGAL ACTION BY SEIC EMPLOYEES AGAINST THE COMPANY

By John Donovan

Seven LNG employees of Sakhalin Energy Investment Company (SEIC) in which Shell retains a 27.5% stake are taking legal action against SEIC for breaching Russian Federation Labor code.

SEIC, now owned by Gazprom, has been officially notified by the Sakhalin RF Oblast Labour Department of the breach. John Black, SEIC Legal Counsel received the official notification from the head of the Department.

We plan to publish later this month full information from an extensive dossier which includes some 120 SEIC internal emails detailing SEIC management deliberately breaking Russian Federation Law, infringing human rights, removing civil liberties and putting the lives of employees in danger. We understand that before the employees took legal action, they tried to resolve the matter with management and relevant local authorities. The damning dossier contains all correspondence between Russian Federation authorities and SEIC Legal/HR. It includes comment from senior SEIC management arrogantly dismissing the Russian Federation Labor Departments objection. read more

AFP: Shell declares force majeure in Nigeria after sabotage

LAGOS (AFP) — Anglo-Dutch oil group Shell said Thursday it would not be able to honour all its export contracts from its southern Nigerian Bonny export terminal for two months because of sabotage.

“Effective February 7, 2008, we declared force majeure on Bonny Light Offtake programmes for the rest of February and March following deferments caused by our inability to progress repair of three leaks on Nembe Creek trunk line,” the firm said in a statement here.

“We had managed to repair one leak but are unable to repair the other three because of serious security challenges,” it added. read more

STATEMENT BY ROYAL DUTCH SHELL PLC: Royal Dutch Shell expands Alaska exploration portfolio

Thursday, February 7, 2008
VOLUME 1 ISSUE 322

Royal Dutch Shell plc is pleased to be the apparent high bidder on 275 lease blocks in the February 6th, 2008 US Outer Continental Shelf Lease Sale 193 in the Chukchi Sea, offshore northwest Alaska. Shell’s high bids totalled $2.1 billion USD.

David Lawrence, Shell Executive Vice President Exploration, said “I am pleased with our results at Sale 193.”  Lawrence continued, “We are committed to exploration for new oil and gas in high potential basins. Our entry into the Chukchi Sea, combined with our lease holdings in the Beaufort Sea, further solidifies our position in Alaska, which has the potential to become a new heartland for Shell.  These new positions come on top of our previously-announced plans for exploration investment in 2008.” read more
